Adding A Double Mono Top To A Wig

Ok so I just got in a new wig from a very good friend of mine that I had bought off her. It’s only a single mono top, for people who don’t know what mono top is ( A monofilament wig creates the illusion of natural hair growth and allows for multi directional styling while also providing a cool, smooth feel against the scalp for long-lasting comfort. Monofilament is a sheer mesh made of strong synthetic fiber ). Sometimes wigs will be double mono tops with a second silk like piece of fabric.

Ok so I thought about using an old wig cap made out of pantyhose material. I cut it in half and then cut the edge off and used thread as well a sewing curved needle. As you can see in the photo’s below as well the finished look. The first photo you can’t really see the parting.

Carefully sew where the mono top meets the wig, Flip the wig inside out

When you reach the front of the wig. Carefully poke through the mono and make tiny holes

so you can thread the needle and wig cap in place.

Once you have stitched the wig cap in place, trim off any loose hanging cap with sewing scissors,
